Keeping the number of corpses on the field, as well as the Summon Mummy companion, as high as possible is the most important part to the Necromancer's game plan. The companions created by the class's flagship skill, Raise Skeleton, not only damage enemies, but deflect enemy attention and damage away from the player's health bar. In the face of these weaknesses, the player must make use of the unique resource Necromancers can access: corpses. The main thing that an aspiring Necromancer needs to understand is that the player character itself is relatively weak it possesses weak defense, dedicates large amounts of skill points into the non-combat charisma stat, and its high intelligence stat is largely wasted by a lack of direct damaging spells to make use of it. This means that the Necromancer, while requiring a higher level of skill to properly execute, can also be one of the strongest classes in the game if played properly. The Necromancer offers perhaps the most unique gameplay experience of any class in the game, turning it into more of an RTS than an RPG. If the effect fails, the target instead takes minor unholy damage. If killed, the Necromancer trainer in the Capital will disappear and they cannot train any more Necromancer skills!Īttempts to instantly destroy your target. WARNING: If the player returns to the Necromancer trainer in the headmaster's chamber, they will have the option to kill him again. The player can do this even with starter gear if you run past all enemies (otherwise the official recommended lvl is 8). With the Skull in your possession, return to the Mage tower and you will encounter the Necromancer trainer in the headmaster's chamber. Here, behind the main dungeon chest, lies the Skull of Necromancy on a table walk up to it, and when prompted, agree to take it. Once in the main dungeon following the lobby area, take your first right (southeast), pass through the hallway, then continue taking the top passageways until you reach the end. The crypt-also known as the Forbidden Library-is North by Northeast of the Mage Tower. +Crit% gear will be your other choice.Go to the Mage Academy Tower, and speak to a student near the headmaster who mentions a crypt where all the cool kids hang out. With accessories, I've only tried 2x Almanac of Annihilation, but not necessary because Impending Doom will do most of the legwork for you. The best thing about this build is that you can almost use whatever you want - even with starting gear if you feel like a challenge. You can activate the other skills in any order as soon as they become ready. Premediate to Revenge to lower the latter's CD. You can choose the other 5 depending on playstyle but at least using Favoured Soul is HIGHLY recommended. The only passive required is Impending Doom to lower CDs on crit. Shield Training (only if you want to use Defend).Frenzy is good if you're adamant on maximizing CD lowering, but I find PI tends to kill waves faster. With a decent amount of Crit%, and Impending Doom, you can repeatedly cast Caltrops every 1 or 2s. Crits on the initial splash / DoT will proc Impending Doom which will give a excellent boost to CD recovery. In higher waves of the arena, it can mean the difference between surviving a power attack and getting one-shotted by it.Īlong with CD lowering gear, Victory Banner and Impending Doom, you can get Defend ready faster than its duration.Ĭaltrops is used for one reason: critical procs. Great damage reducer if you have a lot of spellpower, and a good, low CD damage buff if you don't.īecause 75% of the mobs in the game will be throwing physical attacks at you, Defend will make you immune to damage a good chunk of the time. The damage buff is nice as well.Įffectively turns Revenge's CD from 30s to 15s - 7s (depending if you use CD lowering gear). +50% crit is insane for procing Impending Doom and lowering your overall CDs. The bread and butter of the build, and the primary (and probably the only) way to damage your foes. A build that focuses on the Knight's final skill, Revenge.ĭo you enjoy gear-agnostic builds? Do you like constantly casting skills? Do you enjoy watching Lv25 enemies breaking themselves against a Lv1 you? Then this is for you.
